Dr. D.J. Christopher is a Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Christian Medical College, Vellore. He holds a BSc, MBBS, DTCD, DNB, and is a Fellow of the Indian Chest Society, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology. His basic medical training was from India, with advanced training in the United Kingdom and Australia. Dr. D.J. Christopher’s research interests include Tuberculosis, COPD, Asthma, Interstitial Lung Disease, and sleep apnoea, with his current research focus particularly on TB risk in healthcare personnel and TB diagnostics. He has been instrumental in advancing pulmonary medicine research and clinical practice at CMC Vellore over several decades. Dr. D.J. Christopher is a recipient of several prestigious fellowships, including the Raj-Nanda and British Thoracic Society fellowship for training in interventional pulmonology in the UK, the international fellowship of the American Association of Respiratory Care, and the Senior Training Fellowship for interventional pulmonology in Marseille. He also serves as an executive committee member of RePORT International and a member of the WHO R&D Clinical Characterization and Management Research Expert Group.
