Dr. Denny John is a Senior Researcher with extensive experience in evidence synthesis, decision sciences, health financing, and public health across academic, corporate, and development sectors. With a career spanning Asia and Africa — including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and Tanzania — he brings a rich global perspective to health systems research and policy. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, an MBA in Hospital Management, and a Master of Public Health with specialisation in Economic Evaluation from the University of Auckland, supported by a Commonwealth Scholarship. His technical expertise spans health economic evaluations including decision tree and Markov modelling, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, network meta-analysis, cost-of-illness analysis, budget impact models, infectious disease modelling, and health technology assessment. He is proficient in a wide range of analytical tools including TreeAge, R, SPSS, WinBugs, RevMan, EPPI-Reviewer, Berkeley Madonna, and SPECTRUM, and has extensive experience designing and conducting epidemiological studies, health surveys, impact evaluations, and mixed methods research. He has collaborated with leading international organisations including the World Bank, WHO, DFID, the Gates Foundation, and international charities such as Save the Children, Misereor, and Malteser International. He has successfully procured and managed over US$ 1,000,000 in research and implementation grants from national and international bodies, and brings additional expertise in health insurance, community health financing, health financing policy analysis, and health systems strengthening.
