Dr. Divya Elizabeth Muliyil is a public health specialist and academician currently serving as Professor in the Department of Community Health at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. She completed her MBBS and MD in Community Medicine from CMC Vellore and later obtained an MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom. Her work focuses on comprehensive primary health care, infectious disease epidemiology, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, and non-communicable diseases. She has extensive experience in rural and tribal healthcare delivery through community health programs in Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts and is actively involved in the management of tuberculosis services in collaboration with the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP). Dr. Divya has a strong interest in research methodology and health economics, particularly in the economic evaluation of healthcare interventions, Markov modelling, and cost-effectiveness analysis. She has trained MPH and MD students in epidemiology, biostatistics, and health economics and has supervised multiple research projects with emphasis on high ethical standards and quality data management. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked as a Health Protection Manager at Suffolk County Council, United Kingdom, contributing to outbreak response coordination and public health surveillance. She has also worked in medical underwriting research in the UK, focusing on survival trends in chronic diseases. An active researcher, Dr. Divya has contributed to several national and international publications in the fields of tuberculosis, maternal health, infectious diseases, diabetes, nutrition, and community health.
