I completed BSc in statistics from Loyola College in Chennai, followed by an MSc and PhD in Biostatistics from Christian Medical College, Vellore. During my doctoral studies, I worked on a twins birth cohort to model clustered birth outcomes and developed birthweight standards for twins. After finishing PhD, I completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta, US. I then began a faculty position at the Wellcome Trust laboratory, CMC Vellore. As an applied biostatistician, I work with biomedical researchers to address statistical issues that arise in their projects. In my current role, I collaborate with researchers on the design and analysis of clinical research studies, and coordinate a team of biostatisticians, data managers and programmers in providing research design, data management and analytical support to researchers. My research interests are in design and analysis of studies of health expenditures. This includes methods for measurement error, estimation of indirect expenditures, and modeling expenditure data.
