I have been a faculty at the Department of Community Health at Christian Medical College, Vellore since 2018 after completion of my post graduation and have played the roles of a clinician, researcher and a teacher.
I work with a strong focus on improving access to home-based palliative care. I have also worked along with my department in providing quality obstetric and non-communicable disease care. My work in Palliative care along with our team at the Department serves under-served areas, providing holistic and compassionate care to individuals and families who are caring for the dying. Our work emphasizes on improving quality of life of those afflicted by life limiting illnesses and ultimately facilitating a dignified death. In addition to clinical practice, I have actively engaged in research at the intersection of gender and health. My studies have explored how gender dynamics influence access to healthcare, health outcomes, and the experiences of both patients and providers.
Through a combination of service and research I have continued to strengthen a health system that is responsive to the social and cultural contexts of the populations we serve. Through the past decade I have remained passionate about advancing health equity and improving the quality of life of gender minorities and other marginalized communities.
