Dr. Thomas Samuel Ram is a Professor and Head in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Christian Medical College, Vellore. He treats gynecological, colorectal, skin, and hepatopancreaticobiliary cancers. Dr. Ram has made important contributions to oncology through his clinical work and research, focusing on HPV in cervical cancer, new treatments for advanced cervical cancer, and innovative radiotherapy techniques. Dr. Ram is known for his astute clinical skills and dedication to patient care. He has participated in several clinical trials and helped develop better treatment plans for cancer patients. As the Head of Radiation Oncology at the Ida B. Scudder Cancer Center, he has played a key role in oncology education and training at CMC Vellore. Dr. Ram has been involved in various public health projects. He served as an Oncology Specialist for the Government of Mizoram’s Task Group for a Cancer Institute proposal in Aizawl (2017). He contributed to an E-Learning Project for Government Medical College Patiala (2013) and helped develop an Educational Portal for the National Cancer Grid, India (2018). He also participated in a WHO consultation on cervical cancer management (2019). Dr. Ram is a member of the IGCS Education Committee and the National Cancer Grid’s Quality Council of India (2024). He also serves as a Cancer Expert for the UMRI Christian Hospital Cancer Centre Project. Dr. Thomas Samuel Ram’s dedication to oncology and public health makes him a valuable member of the Centre of Public Health.
