Dr. Valsan Philip Verghese is a Professor of Paediatric Infectious Diseases and Programme Director of the Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Paediatric Infectious Diseases at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. He holds an MBBS, DCH, and MD in Paediatrics, and has trained additionally at the University of Alberta, Canada. He has been a long-standing faculty member at CMC Vellore’s Department of Child Health. His clinical expertise and research span paediatric infectious diseases, vaccinology, antimicrobial resistance, tuberculosis in children, scrub typhus, HIV, and neonatal sepsis. He has contributed extensively to research on the epidemiology and management of infectious diseases in children in the South Indian setting, with publications in leading national and international journals. Dr. Valsan Philip Verghese has played a key role in training physicians on the management of HIV infection for the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) and has been actively involved in developing diagnostics and clinical guidelines for paediatric infectious diseases. His work reflects a deep commitment to improving outcomes for children with infectious diseases in resource-limited settings.
